Note that there are a limited number of spots available, so don’t delay!
From Casey Hagert, Recreation Lead for Eden Prairie:
Hello Pickleball Players,
I hope you are all doing well. The days are getting longer and the snow is melting which means we are not too far from another great season of Pickleball!
Registration is currently open for 2015 Pickleball leagues! This summer, we will be offering a doubles league on Thursday evenings for $35/team as well as a Ladder League on Saturdays for $15/person. Registration will stay open through June 4th. As a reminder, I’ve included the steps for online registration for your teams so that you can get signed up from the comfort of your computer!
You will first want to call the Community Center at 952-949-8470 to obtain your TEAM PIN and TEAM ACCOUNT numbers in order to complete your registration (if you don’t still have them from previous seasons). PLEASE NOTE: family pin numbers will not work to get your team registered for a league! The Community Center staff will be looking up your team from past seasons.
Then you can go to https://parksandrec.edenprairie.org/ >Register>Adult Athletics>select the “Leagues” tab>Pickleball – and then find your desired night and league. Through this process you are able to pay online with a credit card. If you need to pay with a check or cash, you can still do that at the Community Center during the appropriate registration period.
We hope that you will all be joining us again for another fun season!
Southwest Metro Pickleball Club Board Member, Dennis “The Menace” Gallaher along with his Canadian partner, John Savoy won the Gold Medal in 4.0 at the Sun City, AZ Spring Slam on March 28. According to Dennis: “It was great to play well and represent our awesome Southwest Metro Pickleball Club!”
February is coming to an end, which means spring is practically right around the corner, followed closely by summer. That means outdoor pickleball and pickleball tournaments!
Information on two of our biggest ones has been posted. Be sure to have a look, and be ready when registration opens:

If you’re reading this, you’re most likely already aware that we have a new web site! Take a look around and see what we’ve done so far. A word of caution however – the paint is still wet, some things are incomplete or missing, and much of what you see is subject to change.
As the site matures, you will find many exciting new features, all designed to keep you in contact with the club, the sport of pickleball, and your fellow pickleball players.
In addition to a shiny new web site, we also have new social media accounts! You can find us on Facebook by clicking here, and on Twitter as @SWMetroPB. If you’re on either of those platforms, follow us!
As always, we welcome your feedback!
P.S. – if you’re looking for something from the old web site, it’s still available at swmetropickleball.weebly.com. We’re not quite ready to pull the plug on it yet.
Here’s wishing you a warm, safe and blessed Holiday Season. And some Great Pickleball!
Our Southwest Metro Pickleball Party was held at the Chanhassen Rec Center on December 5. We had great food and fun pickleball. A good time was had by all!

On Dec 2 we held a very successful Rating Clinic at the Bloomington Armory. There were two sessions that rated a total of 24 people. We received many verbal and written comments about how well it was done. Many of these people are now attending drills to work on improving their skills based on what they learned.
We hope to continue these sessions over the winter, but there are some challenges getting enough raters for the Jan date. More information will follow as soon as possible.
